What can I say
we built a house of straw
with me inside it....

This album was made by 3 local Flagstaff musicians on Monday nights. Katie King, Antara Hunter, and Steve Caldwell and found each other as 2017 was wrapping itself up in its own knots.

These songs had a long shelf life in Katie's brain. The trilogy outlines a young and short first marriage to a fellow whom she had to kiss in a school play once.

"White Sail" was written on Guam in March 2011 while "Seven Years" & "Steven" began in her parent's studio basement in May in Califonia. You get the drift.

No matter your age or life circumstance, you may find yourself one day inside a house of straw. At 23 years old or 51 the loss and confusion can feel very much the same. I hope these songs can speak to women especially who have not had the strength to leave situations they should have and lost more than the loyalty they carried along the way.

I no longer wonder where all the boats are, having made several sound vessels of my own over the years. I would like to thank Antara, Steve, Trask and Matt for their time and energies on reviving these ghost pieces.
